A high power laser system was used to drive the ignition of inertial confinement fusion (ICF), of which the high energy, the uniform focal spot, the accurate laser waveform, and the synchronization between the laser beams are key parameters. To accomplish this, global laser characteristics control should be assured, which was the main purpose of the injection laser system. In this paper, the key technological progress involved in the improvement of the performance of the injection laser of SG-II is reported, including frequency domain control, time domain control, near-field spatial shaping, pre-amplifier technology, and the optical parametric chirped pulse amplification pump source.

A fiber-based precision synchronization triggering system using fiber pulse stacker combined with high- speed electronics processing technology is presented. The relative timing jitter between two laser pulses achieved with this system is 4.09 ps (rms) in 2 h. The impact of the optical pulse amplitude fluctuation on the timing jitter is effectively reduced by high-speed analog-digital conversion and the reliability of the synchronization measurement system is confirmed.

Abstract

为了减小高功率激光装置中高压干扰电信号对触发脉冲信号的影响,提出了一种可抗干扰、低时间抖动、快上升沿、高精度的光电触发模块。它由发射模块和接收模块构成,发射模块和接收模块之间通过光纤连接。由于触发信号以光信号的方式传送到终端,因此传输过程中触发信号不会受到电干扰信号的影响。该触发模块输出脉冲的上升沿为4.8 ns,对触发信号引入的时间抖动峰峰值约为317 ps,可以为输入阻抗为高阻或50 Ω匹配的被触发仪器提供4 V左右的逻辑门电路(TTL)输出电压,满足高功率激光装置的要求。

A method for electrical waveform generation based on chirped pulse stacker in intensity modulation pulse shaping is provided as a means for high precision synchronization between nanosecond shaped pulse and compressible chirped short pulse in inertial confinement fusion (ICF) research. The arbitrary shaped optical pulse could be obtained, and the measured synchronization precision between ultra-short pulse and shaped optical pulse with the same or different wavelengths is better than 2.75 ps root mean square error.

A LDA pumped highly stable Nd∶YLF ring laser is developed. With an output laser intensity induced negative feedback control of resonator gain, a quasi-continuous prelase with duration of ~100 μs is established, then Q-switch during this prelase. Because the prelase mode is well matched to the resonator eigenmode and with certain intensity, the build up time and intensity of Q-switched pulse are very stable. Experimental results show that intensity instability of output Q-switched pulse doesn′t exceed 4.3%, and time jitter does not exceed ±4 ns.

A novel method is presented for compensating deflection in temporal-spatial transform pulse shaping system, using single-mode optical fiber instead of a second electrooptic deflector. By changing the width of filtering slit, pulse duration ranging from 740 ps to 4.5 ns is observed, and output beam is of good quality. This novel method has reduced requirements on electrooptic deflector and simplified the whole system.

提出了时空变换脉冲整形系统中光束复原的一种新方法:用单模光纤代替通常时空变换法中的第二个电光偏转器.当改变调制狭缝的宽度时,获得了脉宽在740 ps~4.5 ns连续变化的整形脉冲,而且输出光束质量好.此方法降低了对关键元件电光偏转器的要求,提高了可靠性,简化了系统.

成功研制了一台激光二极管列阵(LDA)抽运的高稳定Nd:YLF环形激光器.用输出激光强度负反馈控制谐振腔的增益,建立了准连续的~100 μs宽预激光状态,然后在此预激光基础上调Q.由于预激光模式与谐振腔固有模式一致并且具有一定强度,调Q脉冲的建立时间和幅度都很稳定.实验结果为:输出调Q脉冲强度起伏不超过4.3%,时间抖动小于±4 ns.

Laser pulse is quickly deflected by LiNbO3 electro-optics deflector which is driven by avalanche transistor pile, thus a stable laser pulse output ( the pulse width is ns in scale) is gained, the instability of which is decreased from 10%(RMS) to 4%(RMS)compared with the single-longitudinal-mode Q-switched laser pulse output of the oscillator. It indicates that the amplitude stability of shaping laser pulse is improved greatly.
